NIGERIA @64:Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative hosts novelty match with City Gates Sport club to mark Independence Day celebration
As part of the celebrations marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence, the Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative (URNI) hosted a novelty football match with the City Gates Sport club (CGS) earlier today in the city of Abuja.
The match, not only served as a symbol of unity and love, but also reflected Nigerian’s commitment to promotion of positive change and nation-building through sports in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event,Amb Dele Momoh,Member Board of Patriot, Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria initiative) stressed that the purpose of the match was to bring together individuals from various sectors of society to celebrate Nigeria’s rich heritage and ongoing journey towards a brighter future.
Also speaking , Dr. Chris Agiri, President and Founder Flag Foundation highlighted the importance of community engagement, youth involvement, and teamwork ,values that are the core of URNI’s mission to rebrand Nigeria.
In his remarks,Brigadier Gen. David Shajaba, Rtd ,Chairman Board of Trustee Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiatives charged Nigerians , including the youths to embrace Unity, sports, culture and maintain harmony and tolerance amongst ourselves as a nation.
Dr. Akomolafe Adeboye, President of CGS, stressed the need of fostering collaboration and healthy competition, that will aim to inspire a sense of patriotism, responsibility, optimism and unity in the hearts of Nigerians as Nigerians collectively work towards a more prosperous and unified nation, said sport is a strong unifying force.
The football match also featured Certificate and Awards presentation to deserving individuals, networking opportunities, refreshment, among other side attraction.
