Nigerian Photographer Sets New Guinness World Record for Most Headshots In One Hour
Following a wave of recent Guinness World Record successes from Nigerians, Saidu Abdulrahman, a photographer, has officially joined the ranks of record holders. The 28-year-old from Yobe State in Nigeria's northeast has been confirmed by Guinness World Records as the new title holder for the most headshot photographs taken in a single hour.
Abdulrahman's incredible feat in September 2024 saw him snap 897 headshots within 60 minutes during an event held in Potiskum local government area of Yobe State. This remarkable achievement significantly surpasses the previous record of 500. The event, witnessed by local government officials, students, and supporters, marked the culmination of a year-long preparation process.
Although the event took place in September, it's recently that Saidu received the official confirmation via email from Guinness World Records. He was honoured with a certificate and badge. Saidu's success story is just one more example of the vibrant energy and determination driving Nigerians to achieve global recognition.
One of such examples is Hilda Baci, whose culinary marathon captured the hearts of Nigerians and the world. In May 2023, Baci undertook an ambitious attempt to break the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. Cooking tirelessly for over 93 hours, saw her surpass the previous record. Baci's achievement as of then sparked a nationwide celebration and inspired many others to pursue their own record-breaking dreams.
